Report at the Touristation office next to the Archeological area Entrance of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Touristation Office is equipped with all facilities and services to welcome tourists: free Wi-fi, toilets, ATM and vending machines. You will be welcomed by dedicated and multi-lingual staff that will provide you all the information to enjoy your stay in Rome. 

Start your experience with a 25-minute Multimedia Video (produced by a company which has produced videos for Unesco, BBC  and National Geographic) which graphically illustrates how Rome today was thousands of years ago in the times of the Roman Empire.  Allow the Multimedia Video to take you back in time to Ancient Rome. You will appreciate this experience when later you walk through the ruins of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and enter the magnificent Colosseum.

After the Multimedia Video, you will be accompanied by dedicated Touristation staff to the entrance of the Roman Forum to help your with the security and ticketing procedures.  Once inside, explore at your leisure the Roman Forum Ruins where the ancient Roman Citizen used to live. Continue your visit by making your way to the Palatine Hill which was the site of the Foundation of Ancient Rome and the site where the most important emperors and kings built there magnificent palaces.  

After approximately two hours of your visit of the Archeological Area, step inside one of the world's most famous monument: The Colosseum. Explore at your own pace, the immense amphitheatre, the largest ever built by the Roman Empire and imagine you were one of the thousands of Romans watching the gladiator fights and public spectacles.

Encounter masterpieces of art in the corridors, courtyards, and galleries of the Vatican Museums. See Michelangelo's frescoes in the Sistine Chapel and pay your respects to former popes at the site of their tombs.

Visit St Peter’s Basilica at your own pace with your audioguide. Stroll through the striking aisles of the largest church in the world, admire Michelangelo's "Pieta" and the beautifully carved Bernini Pulpit.

  • All visitors must pass through airport-style security. During high season the wait at security may be up to 30 minutes
  • Vatican museums is closed on sundays and on religious holidays
  • Transportation to Fiumicino and Ciampino airport is not included in the unlimited public transport pass (metro, bus, and tram)
