Florence and the Uffizi Gallery
by high-speed train

Enjoy a one-day round-trip excursion from Rome to the so-called Cradle of the Renaissance: Florence. The high-speed train you will catch from the Capital will grant you a fast and relaxing journey. You will not even realize having traveled from region to region.
Touched by the Arno and small like a gem set in the heart of the Italian peninsula, Florence is romantic, charismatic and full of history.

Go at the meeting point and catch up the high-speed train from Rome Termini station with our professional assistants: they will travel with you, disclosing local tips and pieces of information to get you in the mood for this special day-trip.

Once in Florence the city tour will start with a walking tour included in this guided activity. You will be sure to cover the highlights of the city during a relaxing yet comprehensive visit led by a qualified guide.
It will start from the breathtaking Duomo, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with its beautiful dome by Brunelleschi, the Baptistry and Giotto’s Bell Tower and will take you to the magic Ponte Vecchio going past via dei Cerretani snd Piazza della Repubblica.
This walk takes you to Piazza Santa Croce, where the church of the same name is situated and where great artists like Michelangelo are buried.

By 11:15 you will access the Uffizi GalleryFlorence was the hippest city in the world when it was ruled by the Medici family: every artist wanted to live and work in the fifteenth century’s place-to-be. The Medici family thus funded and gathered an incredibly large art collection, later donated to the city. Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci: these are only a few of the authors of the masterpieces that you’ll see joining our guided tour in this world-renowned art gallery.

After two hours spent unveiling the museum's beauties, some time will be dedicated to admire Piazza della Signoria; thereafter, you will head to a typical local restaurant for a well-deserved delicious lunch included in the rate.

Before meeting your guide again at Santa Maria Novella Station by 6:30 pm to catch the train that will take you back to Rome, you will have the whole afternoon to continue the visit on your own or conveniently go shopping for souvenirs.
