Roman Forum Guided Tour and Underground of the Roman Houses of the Celio Reserved Entrance

Embark on an immersive journey into the heart of Ancient Rome.

Report to the Touristation Aracoeli Office, Piazza d'Ara Coeli, 16 to meet your guide.

The Touristation office is located near the entrance to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill Archaeological Area, and is equipped with all services for tourists: free Wi-Fi, restrooms, ATM, vending machines, and additional services for people with special needs. You will be welcomed by a dedicated multilingual staff who will provide all the information you need to make the most of your stay in Rome. Start your experience with a 30-minute multimedia 3D video (produced by a company that has worked with UNESCO, the BBC, and National Geographic), which graphically illustrates how Rome looked thousands of years ago during the Roman Empire and how it is today. Let the Multimedia 3D Video take you back in time to Ancient Rome.

Afterwards, your guide will take you to the Roman Forum: a place that tells the story of Rome through the centuries, once the vibrant center of the city’s public, political, social, and religious life. During your guided tour, you will see the remains of temples, basilicas, and monuments that hosted crucial events in Roman history. Your guide will explain how this area evolved from a swampy land to a center of activity and exchange over the centuries. You will discover the significance of iconic monuments such as the Temple of Saturn, the Senate and Curia, and the Temple of Vesta, where the Vestal Virgins kept the sacred fire. Throughout the tour, you will have the opportunity to closely observe the architectural remains and understand Roman engineering and art. The guide will share interesting anecdotes and fascinating stories to make the visit even more engaging. Let your imagination take you back in time to an era when this place was the beating heart of Rome.

Conclude your experience with a visit to the Roman Houses of the Celio. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Rome’s history, exploring spaces that tell the story of daily life and cultural transformations over the centuries. This site, also known as the House of Martyrs Giovanni and Paolo, offers a captivating journey through time, highlighting the coexistence of paganism and Christianity. You will be able to walk freely among the original frescoes, which are extraordinarily well-preserved and represent an important artistic and religious testament. Each room tells a story, allowing you to appreciate the art and architecture of a bygone era.  The flexibility of the visit allows you to choose the time that best fits your schedule, making the experience even more personalized.
