Important information:
The elevator does not go to the top of the dome; you will need to climb 300 stairs. Therefore, this is not recommeded for children under 7, or those with clasutrophobia, vertigo, or walking difficulties.
Additionally, entrance to the Vatican requires adherence to a strict dress code. Shoulders and knees must be covered. Visitors not adhering to the dress code will be denied entry.
The Vatican Museums offer free admission to visitors with a certified disability over 74%, and one companion if the visitor is not self-sufficient. If any member of your group has a 74% disability card, please notify us for appropriate arrangements.
